The first American flight to Cuba in more than five decades took off from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Nov. 31, 2016, and landed in Santa Clara, Cuba, that afternoon.
Now, less than eight months later, the island communist nation will once again be off limits to many Americans who wish to travel there — including college students.
I traveled there a few months ago on the people-to-people visa, something that will no longer be allowed for individual travel. Cuba was a trip back in time that was amazing, beautiful and sad, all at the same time.
